Hi all, it's your old pal Rusty String here to chat at you again. Is Cabin Fever setting in for you yet? Man, it sure is for me, but we all know that March means the beginning of spring here in the old UP. And I'm sure each and every one of you is going to welcome it, no matter how much you love your UP winter! Speaking of Cabin Fever, don't miss the 2008 Cabin Fever Bluegrass Bash, Saturday, March 29th at the Upfront & Co Ballroom in Marquette. This is the 4th annual Bash, brought to you by our fine friends, the coolest UP bluegrass band, Chasin' Steel. This years lineup features Chasin' Steel, Grass Monkey and Deep Fried Grass, and the event is a benefit for the UP Children's Museum, so you know it's a great cause. Another great reason to go is the stompin' jam sessions that pop up at the Bash. I've been to a few of these, and I know that you should bring your guitar, banjo, mando, or whatever you have and join in one of the informal jams-everyone is welcome to play, and if you've never been involved with one of these, you're in for a treat. ALSO, and this is great!!!!-your pals at Jim's Music will be raffling off a Beeeeeeeeeyouteeeful Washburn B-14 banjo. The B-14 is an incredible banjo, and so you know, these list for $1259.90-that's not a typo, folks, this is a high-end banjo with a bell brass tone ring! It can be yours for just the price of a raffle ticket or two, and of course proceeds go to the Children's Museum. I can't wait!
