The History of Jim’s Music

Jim’s Music has been your hometown music store since Jim and Karen Dombrowski opened it in 1986. Starting out as a small family owned business, Jim’s has quickly grown into the Upper Peninsula’s largest music retailer. In the summer of 2003 Jim’s Music expanded their business by opening a second location in Marquette Michigan.

Jim’s Music carries full lines of electric and acoustic guitars, drums, digital and acoustic pianos, amplifiers, and sound system equipment. With our extensive rent-to-own program, Jim’s Music has also been providing instruments and services for the U.P.’s school band and orchestra programs since 1988. Jim’s Music also has a professional sound division called "Ludington Sound". Ludington Sound, designs, installs, and trouble shoots sound systems for church’s, schools, dance clubs, and out door functions throughout the Upper Peninsula.
